On Saturday, Oct. 10, the Tahnee’s Kids Fund held the Splash of Color Dash – a 5k run/walk.  Although it rained, there were around 75 runners who braved the weather and came out to participate in a true “splash” of a 5k run.  There were no complaints, just people ready to enjoy family fun and a healthy event.

The monies for this event are going to the Cherokee Elementary School “Homework Club” for grades 2-5.  The club is an after school activity to ensure these elementary aged children have completed their daily homework assignment correctly and in a timely manner.

The Tahnee’s Kids Fund Board would like to thank the following: Craig Day and Harrah’s Community Relations, Frieda Huskey and the Cherokee Indian Fair Grounds, Anthony Sequoyah and Cherokee Tribal EMS, Cherokee Fire Department, Cherokee Police Department –Traffic Division, Katt Quinn – DJ services, Crowe’s Sno To Go, Gloria Griffin and the Cherokee Bottled Water, the Steve Youngdeer American Legion Post 143 for use of their facility, Barbara Owle and Cherokee Tribal Risk Management, Dovie Bradley and all the volunteers, and Lisa Spring Photography.

The Tahnee’s Kids Fund 5k Committee includes: Laura Blythe Ramos, Samantha Crowe-Hernandez, Natalie Newman, Taylor Wilnoty and Taylor Nelson.
