Marcella Wilnoty, of Cherokee, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 62 on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at the St. Joseph’s Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville with her loving family at her side. She was a loving and cherished daughter, sister, mother, aunt and grandmother.
Marcella was proceeded in death by her parents Marshall Wilnoty and Gracia Wilnoty; son, Marshall “Gene” Saine, and ex-husband Wayford Saine.
She is survived by her daughter, Lori Saine Rubio with husband Manuel Rubio; grandchildren, Julian Taiya, Maddox Rubio and Angel and Adam Saine; a much loved daughter-in-law, Shannon Littlejohn; sisters, Fara Lee Rich, Mary Wilnoty, Faye Catolster; brother, Joey Wilnoty with companion Tammy Cagle along with several nieces and nephews: Eddie Marrow, Marshall Bradley, Richard Bradley, Jarrett Wilnoty, Cory Wilnoty and Brent Rich; great-nieces and nephews: Gracia, Indica, Jaden, Colton, Josealina, Elliott, Amber, Nikki and David; and along with her closest and dearest friend Nell Crowe.
A visitation is planned for Tuesday, March 3 starting at 4pm at the Cherokee United Methodist Church along Hwy. 19 N. in Cherokee. Marcella will remain at the church until the hour of service at 12pm on Wednesday, March 4 with Pastor John Ferree and Pastor Roland Whitaker officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her son Gene Saine in the Lucy B. Long Family Cemetery near her home place.
Long House Funeral Home assisted the family in the final arrangements.
