Volleyball is one of the quintessential team sports, and everyone must gel for it to be successful.  This year’s varsity and junior varsity volleyball squads are not the most experienced, but they have the team spirit that can make champions.

“Our team is a good team,” said varsity head coach Terri Hogner.  “What we lack in knowledge and fundamentals right now, we are gaining on team camaraderie.  I think the other stuff will be easy.”

Hogner, who played four years at Window Rock High School in Arizona and four years at Haskell Indian Nations University, added, “I think after our first few games we’re going to be solid.”

“We have some really good talent that came from the middle school team that is going to be a benefit.”

Hogner is very confident in her team and their abilities.  When asked which players should fans look out for as possible stars this year, she related, “I don’t want to single anyone out.  I think they could all be great athletes, and you’ll just have to keep an eye on all of them.”
