Leadership programs calling for nominations

The Cherokee Right Path, “Du-yu dv-i” Adult Leadership Program and the Coulter Regional Leadership Program are both accepting nominations for their 2014-15 programs.

Right Path is a 12-month leadership program for EBCI tribal members to learn Cherokee history and culture and to develop leadership competencies.

Candidates must be age 18 and over, have a high school diploma or GED and have some college experience.  Knowledge of Cherokee culture and/or experience in a professional environment is a plus.  Persons wishing to nominate a candidate can go to wnclead.wcu.edu and download the nomination form.  The Right Path Adult Leadership Program is part of the WNC Leadership Initiative, funded by the Cherokee Preservation Foundation, and administered locally through WCU.

The  Coulter Program is a 12-month leadership program for adults ages 25-55 who have some involvement in community activities and have the potential to become dynamic leaders. Nominees must reside in the counties of Haywood, Macon, Jackson, Swain, Clay, Cherokee, Graham, or the Qualla Boundary.  Persons wishing to nominate can go to https://www.wcu.edu/academics/edoutreach/WNCLeadershipInitiative/index.asp and download the nomination form.  The Coulter Regional Leadership Program is part of the WNC Leadership Initiative, funded by the Cherokee Preservation Foundation, and administered locally through WCU.

The deadline for nominations for both programs is Sunday, June 15 at 5pm.  Letters of nomination will be accepted online, by fax, email, or in-person delivery to the Western Carolina University (WCU) Cherokee Center, Acquoni Road, Cherokee, NC, Attention, Juanita Wilson, Program Director:
