WCU to host panel discussion about environmentalism on April 21

CULLOWHEE – Western Carolina University will host a panel discussion titled “Modern Environmentalism: From the 1960s to Today” in the theater of A.K. Hinds University Center on Monday, April 21.

The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. Panelists will discuss the rise of modern environmentalism in the 1960s and the movement’s impact on the world today as well as their personal experiences and perceptions.

The discussion is connected to WCU’s campuswide interdisciplinary learning theme for 2013-14, “1960s: Take It All In” and will be presented by the “1960s: Take It All In” steering committee and the Department of Chemistry and Physics.
