WCU clarinet students to present March 31 concert

CULLOWHEE – The School of Music at Western Carolina University will present an evening of music for clarinet ensembles Monday, March 31.

The concert will feature students from the clarinet studio of faculty member Shannon Thompson performing repertory for clarinet duo, trio and quartet.

The program will include a variety of transcribed classical music by well-known composers such as Haydn, Mahler and Scott Joplin, as well as original music for clarinet ensembles.

The concert, which is open to the public free of charge, will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the recital hall of WCU’s Coulter Building.
