FEMA, who provided Tribes throughout Indian Country, with the FEMA mobile home initiative, has notified the Office of Native American Programs (ONAP) that they do not have any more mobile homes to distribute to Tribal Programs at this time.  Qualla Housing Authority has been a participant in this Initiative for several years, assisting enrolled members with housing, who needed a home as their primary residence for their family.

Effective, Wednesday, Dec. 4, ONAP has notified the EBCI-Qualla Housing Authority that the EBCI will not receiving any more units from FEMA, therefore, if you have an application in process, for this particular Program, it is currently on hold.

QHA officials stated, “We do encourage you to stay interested in housing and to come and talk with our Housing staff about homeownership and other options that may be available to you.”
