Joseph “Russell” Studer – obituary

LIMA, Ohio – Joseph “Russell” Studer, 78, of Lima, Ohio, passed away at 5:23pm on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

Joseph was born on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 1934 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Lawrence Studer and Cathrine (Dumalt) Studer.

On Oct. 1, 1960, he married Frances “Maxine” (McGillis) Studer who survives in Cherokee, NC.  He was a member of St. Rose Catholic church and Lay Eucharistic Distributor.  He was a poll worker for the Board of Election for many years.  He worked Pow Wow set ups all over the country for over 20 years with his wife.  He loved to smile and joke.

He is survived by two sons, Major Laurence W. (Roberta) Studer of Whispering Pines, NC and Charles Joseph Studer of Colorado Springs, Colo. ; one daughter, Mary Joleen Studer, of Cherokee; two grand daughters, Catherine Studer and Hannah Studer; and good friend Lucy Ross of Lima, OH.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Studer, and a sister, Mary Lillian Studer.
