New this year is the Cherokee Zombie Run which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 12-4pm. This is a fundraiser for CHA and the Mountain Discovery Charter School. Registration is $25 for zombies and runners.
“We are excited to bring an event like this to the area,” said Chris McCoy, CHA operations manager. “I know there are fans of Walking Dead and other zombie-themed entertainment that will like the thrill of ‘surviving’. This isn’t quite a 5K, and we don’t care how fast you can run, only that you are having fun and challenging yourself throughout the course.”
Laura Blythe, CHA village director, commented, “CHA is excited to partner with Mountain Discovery Charter School on this fundraiser. Zombies have swept the nation, and we plan to bring them to Cherokee. This event gives the community a change to test their ability to survive the zombie apocalypse.”
