Mountain State Fair Pony Express

The Pony Express will be running again this year to make entering in the NC Mountain State Fair easy and convenient. Stop by the EBCI Cooperative Extension Center at 876 Acquoni Road in Cherokee to pick up a copy of the Entry & Award Catalog. Entering items is easy. Bring them to the EBCI Extension office securely wrapped in a sturdy box labeled with your name and “EBCI”. Include a completed entry form from the Catalog inside the box with your items. Bring your entries to the EBCI Extension Center by Monday, Aug. 19. The Pony Express will pick-up your items and transport them to the Mountain State Fair in Fletcher. Prize money is mailed directly to winners. Your items, and any ribbons, will be returned to our Extension office by Sept. 20 – in plenty of time to enter in the Cherokee Indian Fair in October! The Pony Express is a real convenience saving the cost of gas, drive time and waiting in the entry lines. Participation in the Pony Express is free and open to all residents of western North Carolina.  Call the NC Mountain State Fair if you have any questions at (828) 687-1414.
