Mountain Mediation Services holding raffle fundraiser

The “Myrtle Beach Fall Get-Away,” sponsored by Mountain Mediation Services (MMS), gives the winner their choice of fall dates to visit the coast.  Raffle tickets are available at several local businesses in the area including: City Lights Bookstore and Jack the Dipper in Sylva, United Community Bank in Bryson City, Attorney Brad Tisdale in Franklin, Blue Ridge Books in Waynesville, Joey’s Pancake House in Maggie Valley, and with Carol Long at Tribal Court in Cherokee.  Tickets are $5/each or three tickets for $12.  For more information or to purchase tickets online, view MMS’ website at www.mountainmediation.org.

Proceeds support mediation services, bullying prevention, and conflict resolution trainings. Mountain Mediation trained over 2,000 youth last year in local schools impacting students from Haywood to Swain County. Mediation for interpersonal disputes is available to individuals and businesses in the community. For mediation referrals, contact MMS at 631-5252 or 452-0240. The drawing will be held Sunday, Aug. 25 at MMS’ Volunteer Appreciation Picnic in Clyde; attendance is not required to win.
