The Western North Carolina Regional Livestock Center (W.N.C.L.C.) in Canton, NC will be opening a cattle pick-up station at Governors Island.  As part of a continued outreach program the W.N.C.L.C. is contracting with Glen Bradley, of Cherokee, to receive cattle every Sunday from 1-5pm beginning Sunday, May 12.  Cattle received at the Governors Island station will be shipped to the Canton Livestock Center for sale on Monday of each week for the 12:30 p.m. sale time.  The haul bill for shipment will be free.

Boyce Deitz, customer service relations spokesperson for the project states, “This is an effort to make it easier for small beef producers to access our new facility in Canton.  Our livestock center is owned and operated by the beef producers of Western North Carolina.  Located at Exit 33 off I40 in Canton, the center is in its second year of operation serving western North Carolina.”

Info: Glen Bradley (828) 269-2310 or Boyce Deitz 508-7815.
