SOFTBALL: Lady Braves win season opener

ANDREWS – It still feels like winter, but diamond sports have started!  The Cherokee Lady Braves won their season opener at Andrews on Friday, March 8 by a score of 14-10. 

Bree Smith ended with an ERA of 1.43 with nine strikeouts.  She also went 3 of 5 with one double, one homerun and two RBIs on the day.

Hye Long went 2 of 5 with one homerun and two RBIs, and Sarai McMillan lit it up going 3 of 4 with a double, a stolen base and five RBIs.

Cherokee had a total of 16 hits, four walks and 10 stolen bases.  Andrews had a total of 11 singles and one walk.
