The Cherokee varsity wrestling team took third place at the Osley B. Saunooke Wrestling Invitational held at Cherokee High School on Saturday, Dec. 15. Three Braves won individual championships including Levi Swearengin (132lb.), Dorian Walkingstick (170lb.) and Michael Montelongo (285lb.).

Mitchell won the tournament with a total of 137 points followed by N.W. Whitfield (Ga.) with 116 and Cherokee 104. Other teams included: E. Henderson 103.5, Tuscola 101, Franklin 92, Smoky Mountain 48 and Hayesville 43.
