BASKETBALL: Cherokee sweeps Rosman

The Cherokee Braves (3-2) and Lady Braves (5-0) traveled to Rosman on Tuesday, Dec. 4 and both teams came back with victories.

The Braves won 76-46 behind a 26 point game by Dustin Johnson.  Seth Littlejohn poured in 19 points as Cherokee outscored Rosman in every period.  The Braves led 15-10 after the first period and held a seven point lead at halftime.  Cherokee dominated the second half outscoring the Tigers 25-7 in the third period and 17-12 in the fourth.

Other Braves scorers included:  Jesse Toineeta 2, Darius Thompson 8, Stephen Swan 5, Chris Queen 3, Hunter Lambert 2, Eli Littlejohn 3, Dillon Bird 4 and Silas Reed-Littlejohn 4.

Kye Stancil led Rosman with 13 points.

The Lady Braves won 58-41 to remain unbeaten on the season.  Avery Mintz led Cherokee with 18 points followed by Jordyn Thompson and Kendall Toineeta with 12 each.

Cherokee found themselves in unfamiliar territory trailing 12-10 after the first period.  But, that turned around quickly as the Lady Braves turned in on in the second period outscoring the Lady Tigers by 17 points to take a 39-24 lead into the locker room.

Other Lady Braves scorers include:  Bree Stamper 5, Le Le Lossiah 3, Brianna Jumper 1 and Alexis Maney 7.

Candace Petit led the Lady Tigers with 13 points.
