Tribal members in action in football playoffs

EBCI tribal members were in action in several western North Carolina football playoff games on Friday, Nov. 2.

Cherokee ended their season on Friday with a 69-20 loss at Murphy.  Logan Woodard connected with Seth Littlejohn on two touchdowns and Littlejohn ended with 119 receiving yards.  Kennan Panther ran 11 times for 61 yards.

Swain County remained unbeaten with a 68-22 win over East Wilkes.  EBCI tribal member Raymius Smith completed 8 of 16 passes and threw 4TDs.  Tribal member Greg Tisho caught three passes for 44yds and 1TD.  He also recovered a fumble and ran it 3yds for a touchdown.  Kobe Toineeta, EBCI tribal member, carried the ball three times for 43 yards and a touchdown.

EBCI tribal member Spencer McCoy scored the winning touchdown for Robbinsville in a hard-fought game against Hayesville that ended with a 12-8 win for the Black Knights.

Swain hosts West Wilkes this Friday, Nov. 16 in the second round of the 1AA playoffs and Robbinsville travels to Murphy in the second round of the 1A playoffs.  All games are scheduled for a 7:30pm kickoff.
