Sequoyah Remembrance Day scheduled for Aug. 5

Sequoyah Remembrance Day.  Aug. 5 at the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum in Vonore, Tenn.  The Museum will be celebrating Sequoyah’s contribution to the Cherokee people by creating a writing system, the Cherokee Syllabary, with free admission to the museum from 12-5pm.  Allen Fugate will be demonstrating Silversmithing and EBCI tribal member Dawn Arneach will be answering questions and guidance on researching your Cherokee ancestry.  The 1809 Cherokee Blacksmith shop will be up and running with demonstrations all day.  Info:  (423) 884-6246
