Enjoy an entertaining evening while raising money to benefit elk, other wildlife and their habitat. That’s the promise of a Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation fundraiser banquet and auction slated for Saturday, Aug. 18 at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Hotel Ballroom.

The evening begins at 5pm with raffles and silent auction, dinner at 7pm, followed by a live auction for world-class wildlife art, firearms, unique collectibles and trips from all across the world.

“We promise a good time for a great cause,” said Joe Treadway, of Asheville, who serves as Chapter Co-Chair and volunteers with the local committee of conservationists to host the annual event. “This is the 19th annual banquet that we’ve hosted here in WNC, and we’re proud of our continuing support for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s conservation work across the country and especially here in North Carolina.”

Since 1984, the organization has enhanced or conserved over 6 million acres of habitat—nearly all on public lands—for elk and other wildlife. More than 600,000 acres have been opened for public access including hunting, fishing and other recreation. Additionally, wild elk populations have been restored in parts of their former range here in North Carolina, as well as Kentucky, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Missouri and Virginia.

For ticket information and reservations, contact Co-Chair Joyce Cooper at 828-506-3308. Deadline is Saturday, Aug. 11.
