Cherokee Boys Club Report – May 31

CLUB SCHEDULE:
Wednesday, June 6 – Staff Meeting – 8:30 a.m.
Wednesday, June 13 – Resolution Deadline – 8:30 a.m.
Wednesday, June 20 – Board of Directors Meeting – 8:30 a.m.
Thursday, June 21 – Safety Committee Meeting – 11:30 a.m.

SYMPATHY
     The Boys Club staff extends sympathy and condolences to the friends and family of Caden Jayce Lossie who passed away on May 19.  Caden was the infant son of Critter Lossie and Bam Bam Youngdeer.  He was the grandson of Charlotte Littlejohn of the Club’s Family Support Services office and Rick Lossie of the Club’s Construction and Facility Department. His maternal grandparents are Barney and Bonnie Youngdeer.  Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with these families. 
      We also send our thoughts and prayers to all the families who have recently lost loved ones.

CLUB WOMEN ATTEND CONFERENCE
     On Saturday, May 19, Vickie McCoy took her Admin Staff and several other ladies from the Boys Club to the Med-West Annual Flourish Women’s Health Conference.  The conference was held at Harrah’s Casino and featured seminars with physicians from Med West, routine health screenings, and visits to other women’s interest booths.
 This service was provided to staff as part of the Health and Wellness benefits for Club staff.

AGELINK GRADUATION
     The pre-school class at Agelink enjoyed a graduation ceremony on Tuesday, May 29 at Acquoni Church.  Five students graduated from pre-school and will attend Kindergarten in the fall.  Thanks to Pastor Ed Kilgore, Wilbur Paul, Jack Davis, Chad Swayney, Randy Lossiah and Michael Bradley for their participation and assistance in this event.

     Tammy Bradley, Agelink Manager, wishes to thank Loretta Bradley and Margaret Jenkins for their help in other fundraisers that the Child Care Department has had. 

SUMMER VACATION
     Cherokee Central Schools had their last day of school on Wednesday, May 23.  The school hosted a cookout for their staff on Friday and invited the Club bus drivers to attend to show their appreciation for the job they do. 
 

     Cultural Summer School will begin on Monday, June 4 and will run through June 15.
