BUS DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
The Cherokee Boys Club’s charter buses are now being booked for spring and summer trips and are filling up quickly!  If your school, church or group is planning a trip, please call to schedule a bus as soon as possible.  For more information about scheduling and rates, call Allan Oocumma, Albert Arch or Nancy Taylor at (828) 497-9101.
Bus Department Management would like to remind everyone to be mindful of the school bus traffic in the mornings and afternoons and to be aware of the children as they load and unload at the bus stops.  There are still occasions when drivers of personal vehicles pass a stopped school bus which is a violation of the law.  Club bus drivers will immediately report any driver who passes a school bus while it is stopped to load or unload students.

If you are interested in training to become a bus driver or would like to attend classes, please call Allan Oocumma at the Boys Club (828) 497-9101.

CONGRATULATIONS LADY BRAVES
The Boys Club would like to congratulate the Cherokee High School Lady Braves for an outstanding 2011-2012 season.  The Lady Braves (25-6) fell to six-time defending State Champion Bishop McGuiness 51-45 in Saturday’s semi-final game that was determined in overtime play.  We extend our thanks and appreciation to the students, the coaches, the managers, the staff, family and fans who support our all our Braves teams.

BOYS CLUB SECURITY
The Boys Club wants to make everyone aware that in an effort to deter theft and vandalism of Club property, the Club grounds are now entirely covered by video surveillance.  This surveillance coverage includes buildings, parking areas, equipment and gas pumps.  All video footage is reviewed daily by Club staff and suspicious activity will be reported to the authorities.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
It is time to spring forward one hour!  Daylight Savings Time starts on Sunday, March 11 at 2:00 a.m.  Set your clocks ahead one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.

FAMILY SERVICES RELOCATION
As a reminder, Family Support Services, currently located on 508 Goose Creek Road in Birdtown, will be moving to the Boys Club’s main campus in the very near future.  Renovations have been completed on the former General Manager’s residence across from the Boys Club’s Garage which will be the new office for Family Support.  Final details are being taken care of in order to begin the move.  Watch the One Feather for additional information on actual moving dates!
