In 2010, four EBCI members hosted four New England Native American artisans in Cherokee as part of the New England foundation for the Arts Native American Artist Exchange. The program will fund exchanges from all artistic disciplines traditional to contemporary in visual and performing arts. Basketmakers, jewelers, filmmakers, photographers, musicians and actors are eligible. Applications must be made at least 60 days before the exchange can take place and successful applicants are given a $1500 stipend for being part of the program. Anyone interested in being part of an exchange in 2012 with another Native American artist may contact Beth at RTCAR at 554-6925 for information on applying.  Contacts within the Native Arts program in New England can help match you up with another artist.
