Drop everything and read

Cherokee Indian Hospital Pediatrics and the Qualla Boundary Library joined forces on Wednesday, Dec. 14 to host a Christmas Drop Everything and Read.  Twelve children from Age Link Child Care Center joined the Pediatric staff and Robin Swayney, Qualla Boundary Library manager, as they read Christmas books provided by staff and the library.

The children were greeted by Patience, the CIH Bear.  Shown (left-right) are CeCe Ledford, Cameron George, Jadence Saunooke, Steffani Sanchez, Asa Sieumptewa, Mimi Lossie, Oscar Swayney, Cyrus James and Devin Swayney.

After many hugs and a photo session, the children were sent on their way with a Christmas goody bag and several books.

“Thank you to the Age Link Program and Tammy Bradley, Robin Swayney at the Qualla Boundary Library, Margie Gunter, and especially our Cherokee Indian Hospital Pediatric staff for making this a great event,” CIH officials stated.
