Lady Braves heading to 1-A Golf Regionals

     The Cherokee High School Lady Braves golf team finished its season with five girls competing at Reigonals.    The Lady Braves played 14 matches this fall with two first place finishes, and the team had players that consistently finished in the top three.

   Team members for the 2011 season were Karleigh Reeves, Teria Morgan, Elle Bradley, Destiny Owle, Micala Arch, Gabby Thompson, and Kyndra Wiggins.  Elle Bradley maintained the lowest average throughout the season. 
 Regional competition begins Monday, Oct. 24 for the 1A and 2A schools at Woodbridge Golf Course in Kings Mountain and Morgan, Bradley, Owle, Arch and Wiggins have qualified to play.  Players had to score a 55 or better to qualify.  The team will be leaving on Sunday to play their practice round at Woodbridge.

     “Cherokee High School athletics would like to graciously thank the staff at Sequoyah National, Ryan Ott for all his instruction, the staff at Smoky Mountain, the EBCI for making this wonderful experience for our students, and Micala’s grandma for the snacks and drinks,” the golf team said in a statement.  “Special thanks to all the parents who came out and supported our team.”
