Roderick “Lee” Taylor – obituary

     Roderick “Lee” Taylor, 75, of Cherokee, N.C. died unexpectedly on July 24, 2011 in Asheville, N.C. at the Mission Campus of Mission Hospitals.

     He was the son of the late Timpson and Cinda Reed Taylor of Cherokee, N.C. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the American Legion Steve Youngdeer Post # 143 in Cherokee, N.C.

     Lee is survived by his son Robert Joseph Taylor and wife Loretta of San Marcos, CA, two daughters, Dina Dee Taylor of Escondido, CA and Tina Louise Taylor of Hillsboro, OR, two brothers, Frank Taylor and wife Charlotte and Rueben Taylor and wife Mary Jane, two sisters, Sarah Smythe and Helen Arch, one grandson, Jake Taylor and Special Companion Lois Lambert and her son George Lambert all of Cherokee, N.C. He is also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews. 

     Lee was also preceded in death by his wife Patsy Taylor, two brothers, Richard Taylor and Fred Taylor and sister, June Maldonado.

     A graveside service will be held Tuesday July 26, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Birdtown Cemetery in Cherokee, NC with the Rev. James “Bo” Parris officiating.  The family will receive friends thirty minutes before. 

     In lieu of flowers it was requested that donations be made to the American Legion Steve Youngdeer Post #143, PO Box 1181, Cherokee, NC 28719.

     Long House Funeral Home of Cherokee helped with the arrangements.
