Onita Ann Driver Bowman, 56, of the Big Y Community, went home to be with The Lord, Tuesday March 8, 2011 at her residence. A native of Cherokee, she was the daughter of Waneema Littlejohn Driver of Cherokee and the late Tom Sequoyah Driver. She was a loving mother, sister and daughter. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Faye.
In addition to her mother she is survived by: 2 Sons- Buster Bowman and companion Poss of Cherokee and Corey Ross of Cherokee; Lifelong friend- Ronnie Bowman of Newport News, VA;3 Grandchildren, Brittany, Amanda and Brandon; 1 Sister, Jeanie Saunooke of Cherokee; 3 Brothers, T.J., Tommy and June Bug; Nephews,Tom, Randy, Doolie, Lopper and Dooner; Nieces, Stephanie, Nakia, Miss B., Darlene; and several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Friday at Big Witch Baptist Church. Revs. James Sneed and Denny Crowe will officiate. Burial will be in The Driver Family Cemetery. The body will be taken back to the Church at 4:00 PM Thursday by Crisp Funeral Home to await the hour
