     BRYSON CITY – Clarence James (Jim) Deck, 54, a native of Florida, he has been a resident of Swain County since 2000. He was a member of Vero Beach Seventh Day Adventist Church. Jim also was employed as a Detention Officer at the Swain County Jail. He also was a member of the Brothers in the Wind Motorcycle Club and a proud member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Edwin Deck.

     He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Owl Deck; three children, Shannon Deck Priddy and husband Steven of Mckenzie, TN, Joshua Deck and wife Shae of Bryson City, and Mandy Deck Phillips and husband Jason of Sardis, TN; one brother William (Bill) Deck and wife Alice of Henderson, TN; one sister, Wynona Deck Luna and husband Ismael of Vero Beach, FLA; and 7 grandchildren.

     Funeral Services will be held 2pm on Friday, March 11, 2011 in the Chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Revs. Charles Ray Ball and John Stevens will officiate.

     The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
