 The Cherokee Life Center is located on Acquoni Road.  Our main entrance is adjacent to the Cherokee Boys Club at 37 Cherokee Boys Club Loop; (behind the school buses).  Memberships are free to

Hours of operation are:

Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. – 7:45 p.m. Pool opens at 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

(Please note:  the pool does close during class times.)

Saturdays: Facility and pool open at 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Pool closes at 1:00 p.m.

The Cherokee Life Center is full of opportunities for both young and old, wellness programs and fitness classes are available as well.  We have an indoor walking track, therapy pool, weight room, cardio room, women’s workout room, children’s workout room, stretching area, basketball court and racquetball court.  For more information about all the types of exercise possibilities, please call Ahli-sha Stephens (828) 497-1968; Jama Anders (828) 497-1963 or Lynn Taylor  (828) 497-1969. 

All one has to do is complete a Membership Application; and if needed a Health Status Questionnaire.  In some situations a medical release may be necessary to ensure your physician is agreement with your participation and to provide recommendations and/or limitations for a safe exercise regimen.

Starting a daily exercise program:

It is always important to consult your physician before starting an exercise program. This is particularly true if any of the following apply to your current medical condition:

  • chest pain or pain in the neck and/or arm
  • shortness of breath
  • a diagnosed heart condition
  • joint and/or bone problems
  • currently taking cardiac and/or blood pressure medications
  • have not previously been physically active
  • dizziness
