BIA Forestry is strongly urging everyone to not ignite any type of outdoor fires at this time, excluding campground fire ring controlled fires. They have also relayed this urgent message to the Cherokee Fire Department. At this time the Cherokee Fire Department will not be issuing any burning permits until further notice. Please pass this email along to individuals who may not have tribal email. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are making every attempt to keep everyone safe.
