On Saturday, April 17, the Cherokee Flames soccer team faced off against the only team that beat them last season in Asheville.

Flames player Russell Bigmeat led the offense from the right corner, drawing the goalie out and centering a beautiful pass for the easy score by Darius Thompson, to even out the score 1-1 by half time.

In the second half, Henderson tried to apply offensive pressure, only to be shut down by Flames defender Chayton Thompson, who had five saves by himself.  Jeremy “Scrappy” Parker managed to scrap his way through the Henderson 1 defense and took the Flames to a 2-1 lead.

Unfortunately, Henderson 1 squeaked in another goal in the last minute to tie the game, and leave the final score, at 2-2.
