DOJ to convene National Symposium on Child Protection in Indian Country

WASHINGTON – The Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs (OJP) will convene the National Symposium on Child Protection in Indian Country on Tuesday, March 9, through Thursday, March 11.   The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort in Santa Ana Pueblo, NM. 

Organized and sponsored by OJP’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) and the Santa Ana Pueblo, the symposium will bring together teams from more than 60 tribes comprised of individuals representing law enforcement, child protection and tribal leadership. 

Symposium sessions will focus on creating a multidisciplinary approach and coordinated community/tribal-based effort to prevent, interdict and respond to child abuse, neglect and exploitation.
