Braves go 2-1 on week

Beat Andrews, Blue Ridge; Fall to Highlands

              The Cherokee Braves went 2-1 on the week beating Andrews and Blue Ridge before falling to Highlands on Saturday night. 

                The Braves squeaked by Andrews 50-49 on Tuesday, Jan. 12.  The Braves were led by Tsaladi Sequoyah with 11 points and 6 rebounds.  J.T. Wildcat and Tyler Williams both added 10 points and 5 rebounds to help in Cherokee’s winning effort.  Other Braves’ scorers included:  A.J. Crowe 7, Greg Bradley 8, and Tre Owle 4 (5 rebounds).

                Two nights later, the Braves would keep the momentum going with an impressive 91-36 victory over Blue Ridge.  Bradley led the way on the night with 19 points followed by Seth Littlejohn with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals and Owle with 15 points.  Sequoyah had another fine game with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.  Other Braves’ scorers included:  Williams 11 (4 assists), J.T. Wildcatt 12 (4 assists, 6 steals), Marty Medina 2, and Crowe 4 (4 blocked shots).

                The Highlanders were able to end the Braves’ winning streak on Saturday, Jan. 16 as they defeated Cherokee 61-44.  Williams led the Braves with 14 points followed by Bradley with 11.  Sequoyah had 17 rebounds and 6 blocked shots to go with his 5 points.  Other Braves scorer’s included:  Littlejohn 7, Bradley 11, and Crowe 2.
