Rock Springs Baptist Church held Vacation Bible School the week of June 22-26, and one of the projects for the children in attendance was to raise money for the Cherokee Children’s Home.  At the conclusion of the week the children, ranging in age from infants to teenagers, had raised $1,000 which was then matched by the Church for a total donation to the Children’s Home of $2,000.

The Cherokee Children’s Home, a department of the Cherokee Boys Club, will be moving soon into a new facility located on Goose Creek Road in the Birdtown Community.  All monetary donations will be used to finalize the construction of the buildings as well as to provide new furniture, supplies, recreational needs and landscaping for the buildings.

The Children’s Home and Cherokee Boys Club both related they are very grateful to the children and members of Rock Springs Baptist Church for their kindness, consideration and generous donation that will be used to help other children enjoy a stable and nurturing environment to call home.
