Great Smoky Mountains National Park officials have rescheduled two open houses that were canceled due to inclement weather. The public is invited to four open house opportunities in North Carolina and Tennessee to meet and welcome new Superintendent Cassius Cash to the Smokies.

The four community open house events will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the Historic Calhoun House in Bryson City; Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Calhoun’s Banquet Room in Gatlinburg, Tenn.; Tuesday, March 3 at the Barn Event Center in Townsend, Tenn.; and Thursday, March 5 at the Oconaluftee Administration Building adjacent to the Oconaluftee Visitor Center near Cherokee.  The open houses will be held from 4-6pm at each location.

The open house events are hosted by Friends of the Smokies, Great Smoky Mountains Association, the Townsend-Walland Business Alliance, the City of Townsend, and the Historic Calhoun House.
