BASKETBALL:  Cherokee Middle School basketball teams advance to the Finals

The Cherokee Middle School Braves and Lady Braves are going to the Smoky Mountain Conference championship at the Robbinsville High School Gymnasium on Thursday, Jan. 22.  The Lady Braves will face the Hayesville Yellow Jackets at 5pm and the Braves will face the Rosman Tigers afterwards at 6:15pm.

The Lady Braves defeated the Andrews Wildcats in the first round on Saturday, Jan. 17 and the Murphy Bulldogs 58-28 on Tuesday, Jan. 20 in the semi-finals to advance to the conference championship.

The Braves defeated the Murphy Bulldogs in the first round on Saturday, Jan. 17 and the Swain County Maroon Devils 69-21 in the semi-finals on Jan. 20.

Both teams enter the championship game undefeated and are looking to cap off a perfect season in the final game.
