Kallup Earl McCoy – obituary

Kallup Earl McCoy, 67, of 328 Kallup’s Cold Mtn. Rd., in Cherokee, passed away following a battle with an extended illness on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014.

Kallup was the son of the late Frank McCoy and Nellie (Lambert) McCoy and he was a home construction contractor by trade who was Baptist in faith.

He is survived by his children, sons, Steven Edward McCoy and Kallup McCoy II both of Cherokee; daughters, Kerry Lyn McCoy of Asheville, Angela Kay Duncan of San Diego, Cali. and Leighann Rose McCoy of Cherokee; one sister, Blanche McCoy Vickers of Sevierville, Tenn.; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Kallup was also preceded in death by brothers, Henry Carlson McCoy and Frank Joseph McCoy.

A memorial service will take place for Kallup on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014 at the Goose Creek Baptist Church starting at 3pm. The family will receive friends from 11am – 3pm start time at the church.  The family also requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Betty Dupree Cancer Support Group at 40 Goose Creek Rd., Cherokee, NC 28719 or you may call 828-497-0788.
