Dr. Toedt is resigning his position as executive director of clinical services but will maintain privileges and still see patients on a limited basis at Cherokee Indian Hospital. Cherokee Indian Hospital will begin the search process to replace Dr. Toedt as clinical director.  This process will involve medical staff, Governing Board, and Executive staff consultation.  Dr. Rick Bunio will serve as acting clinical director until a replacement is found.

Dr. Toedt will return to Cherokee as the medical director for purchased and referred services (formerly Contract Health) after his detail.  His training and experience as IHS acting chief medical information officer and working with Health Information Technology will make him a valuable asset to this program.

Each year, Purchased and Referred Services purchases over 15 million dollars worth of contract health care.  Dr. Toedt will monitor quality of care, patient experience, and cost containment for the program.

Dr. Toedt is a Captain in the Commissioned Corps and has served in the Corps for 23 years. He lives in Whittier with his wife, Dominique, who is also a physician at Cherokee Indian Hospital, and has two children, Daniel and Matthew.  He has been at Cherokee Indian Hospital for 15 years.
