Man injured at Sinks area in Park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park rangers received a report of an injured man near the Sinks at approximately 5:30pm on Monday, Aug. 4.  Park rangers, Rural Metro ambulance service from Blount County, and Sevier County ambulance service responded.

A 21-year old male, Michael Taylor Noblitt, from Carmel, IN, fell approximately 10 feet from a bank onto a rock at the Sinks. He suffered a serious head injury and was transported by Rural Metro ambulance service to an emergency Lifestar landing zone in Townsend, Tenn. Lifestar transported the patient to the University of Tennessee Medical Center at approximately 6:45 p.m. The patient was alert and conscious during the rescue and transport.
