WCU offering nature photography course in Asheville

ASHEVILLE – A five-week course, “Nature Photography In-Depth,” will be offered in Asheville by Western Carolina University’s Office of Continuing and Professional Education.

Classes will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays beginning May 27 and continuing through June 24 at WCU’s instructional site at Biltmore Park Town Square. There will be one additional class meeting for a field trip on Saturday, June 21.

The instructor for the course will be Les Saucier of Pisgah Forest, a professional nature photographer who has taught around the country for more than 30 years. Saucier is the creator of Flowerpod, a tool for macro-photographers and his prints are on display at Bluewood Gallery in Brevard.

The course will cover aspects of nature photography such as fundamentals and composition, macro-photography, landscape photography, wildlife photography and post-processing.

The cost of the course is $199.
