CHARLOTTE – The EBCI Transit team of Dennis Junaluska, Shan Standingdeer and Michael Jay Shell took first place in the team competition at the North Carolina Public Transportation Conference and Roadeo held April 5-6 in Charlotte.

“I don’t think people realize how much training our drivers participate in and what we do every day to make sure passengers are safe riding with us,” said Kathi Littlejohn, EBCI Transit manager.  “The Roadeo is another training, but puts drivers under pressure to perform smoothly and professionally against other professional drivers.  I am extremely proud of Dennis, Shan and Jay for doing so well.”

Junaluska also took first place in the individual competition.

The drivers were tested on wheelchair securement training and customer service on Saturday, April 5 and did a timed course and pre-trip vehicle test on Sunday, April 6.
