GOLF: Crowe wins first home match

The Cherokee Braves golf team hosted the Highlands Highlanders and the Hayesville Yellow Jackets in their first home match of the season on Tuesday, March 18.  The match was held at Sequoyah National Golf Club on a modified nine-hole course where the players walked holes 3-11.

Individually, Cherokee’s Tagan Crowe led the field by shooting an impressive 39 on the tough par 37 course.  Johnny Lupoli (Highlands) finished second with 45, and Justin Flanningan and Chris Sharer (Hayesville) tied for third with 46.

The Highlanders finished in first place with 201 strokes, Hayesville finished second with 204, and Cherokee took third with 206.

The Cherokee Braves golf team travels to Cherokee Hills Country Club in Murphy on Thursday, March 20.  Tee times start at 3:30pm.
