SCHOOL BUS SAFETY CLASSES

The Bus and Truck Department Manager, Allan Oocumma and Assistant Manager, Albert Arch, will provide Bus Safety classes for Cherokee Elementary School students this week at the School.  Buses will carry students from the front of the elementary school to the back of the elementary school, or from back to front.  During and at the end of the ride, a safety demonstration and evacuation drill will be conducted.

The Boys Club has provided these classes for many years in an effort to keep our children safe during their transportation to school each morning and back home each evening.

MORE SCHOOL BUS NEWS

The Cherokee Boys Club will be providing shuttle service for Western Carolina University’s Homecoming Parade festivities on the afternoon of Oct. 25.

Approximately ten buses will be provided for transportation of students and guests to and from the parade site.

The Club will also be providing shuttle service to and from Asheville Airport the week of October 27 for the USET 2013 Annual Meeting and Expo to be held at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort.

THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

The Boys Club extends its sincere sympathy to the friends and family of Bertha Johnson Chiltoskie who passed away this past week.  Bertha was the mother of Henry Chiltoskie, former Assistant Director of Education for Cherokee Central Schools.

Our sympathy is also extended to the friends and family of Pearl Chickilelie Davis who passed away last week.  Pearl was the mother of Margaret Jenkins, former Kitchen Manager at Cherokee Central Schools and Club employee.

Please keep both of these families in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
