The 7th Annual Cherokee Children’s Book Project Elder Turtle will be highlighted on Thursday, March 28 at 10am at the Qualla Boundary Public Library. The first 50 people who come to the reading and book signing will receive a copy of Elder Turtle

002Gilliam Jackson told and translated this beautiful story about the world as viewed through the eyes of a wise old turtle “Daksi”.

Join Principal Chief Michell Hicks, along with Gilliam Jackson who will read and sign the books. This project is to encourage families to read and learn together.

The staff at the Qualla Library related they encourage everyone to take time and read, get lost in an adventure without leaving your home and share a moment with your children by reading to them.

“Come out and join us and hear Daksi’s wisdom.”
