Feeding America is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Their mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger.  The Cherokee Community Wellness Team (CCWT) is fundraising with a goal to sell 100 boxes. For every 50 boxes an organization purchases, Cherokee Food Lion matches the donation. Donations will go to the Cherokee Central School Manna Back Pack Program and Cherokee families in need.

Each year, the Feeding America network provides food assistance to more than 37 million Americans who live without consistent access to food, including more than 14 million children and nearly 3 million seniors.

A donation of $5 buys a Feeding America box of food including macaroni and cheese, pasta sauce, oatmeal, white rice, and green beans

You can also purchase individual Feeding America boxes at Cherokee Food Lion. The deadline for CCWT Feeding America Donations is Wednesday, Dec.5 at 5pm. Make checks payable to Cherokee Food Lion.
