The Lady Braves varsity volleyball team (3-5) split on two road games in the past week.  They defeated Blue Ridge 3-1 on Thursday, Aug. 30 and then lost to Andrews 3-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

The score of the Blue Ridge match was 25-20, 24-26, 25-15 and 25-20.  “Callie Phillips had a career high 21 kills on 34 attempts,” said coach Kim Arkansas.  “Kendall Toineeta had 6 kills, 8 assists and 1 solo block.”

The score of the Andrews match was 25-16, 25-14 and 25-15.  “We played without setter Madison Long,” said Arkansas.  “If she can get healthy, we can look to move up in the conference standings.  Middle hitter Avery Mintz had a solid performance with 7 kills, 3 digs and 3 blocks along with an excellent serve-receive game.  As much as we like her on the front row, her back row passing generates a lot of offense for us.”

The JV team (4-4) won at Blue Ridge (25-9, 25-23) and at Andrews (25-12, 25-21).
