Dennis Lee Coons, age 57, left us Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012. Dennis was the son of the late Carroll A. Coons and Phyllis Coons. Dennis lost his battle with a very fast acting cancer.
Dennis was born in Bryson City on April 3, 1955. He was a military veteran and had joined the US Air Force in 1975 and proudly served until 1983. After traveling the world he returned to his beloved mountains.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis; brother, Carroll Jr. (Mike); sister, René; daughter, LeeAnn; grandsons, Austin and Zachary; niece Rebel, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept.1 from 6-7pm at the chapel of Long House Funeral Home. No other services are planned.
