Public Notice for Proposed VIPER Tower

     The Office of Planning & Development, The Office of Public Safety and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol would like to notify all interested parties and abutting landowners of the proposed VIPER (Voice Interoperability Plan for Emergency Responders) Tower that is seeking a tower permit at this time. This tower will allow increased quality of service to the community by improving Public Safety Communications for residents and visitors to the area.

     The proposed tower will be located at the ridgeline above Mount Noble near the existing US Cellular Tower and the BIA Fire Tower. The proposed tower is a 180’ lattice with no lighting or guy wires.

     The notice period will run until the next scheduled Planning Board Session, which will be on March 19 at 1pm in the Council Chambers, at which time, the Planning Board will review for approval.
