Employees at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel in Cherokee, N.C., now have access to on-site health care through Healthstat, Inc., the country’s leading on-site health management provider. The clinic will help improve employee health and reduce rising health care costs. Staffed by a full-time nurse practitioner and other trained clinical personnel, the clinic is located inside the casino offices at 777 Casino Drive.

Healthstat will provide disease management, health risk counseling, and acute and urgent care for Harrah’s Cherokee employees and their dependents covered under the company’s health benefits plan. Healthstat’s primary function is to identify chronic health issues and prescribe treatment, reducing the risk of serious illness.  Harrah’s cost of providing health insurance to its employees is reduced, and by covering the cost for co-pays at the clinic, Harrah’s employees also save money.

“Like all large employers, Harrah’s knows the crippling effects of healthcare inflation and Healthstat is eager to bring a real and lasting solution to the health and vitality of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel’s employees,” said Healthstat CEO, Crockett Dale.

Healthstat anticipates in three years’ time, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel will save three dollars in health care claim costs for every dollar invested in the clinic. The savings come from the combination of reducing rising health care service costs and increased productivity. Not only will having a health clinic located at work save time, patient wait times at Healthstat clinics average less than 15 minutes so employees get back on their feet quicker.

“Our employees are our greatest asset, and by giving them and their families greater access to quality health care we help ensure their good health while reducing related health care costs. Healthstat has a proven formula for success that we believe is a superb fit for our company,” said Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Hotel General Manager Brooks Robinson.
