Wednesday, November 2 – Staff Meeting – 8:30 a.m.
Wednesday, November 9 – Board Resolution Deadline – 8:30 a.m.
Friday, November 11 – Veterans Day (Tribal, Club and School Holiday)
Wednesday, November 16 – Board of Directors Meeting – 8:30 a.m.
Thursday, November 17 – Safety Committee Meeting – 11:30 a.m.
Thursday, November 24 – Thanksgiving (Tribal, Club and School Holiday)
Friday, November 25 – Tsali Day (Tribal, Club and School Holiday)

Congratulations Boys Club Halloween Committee
      THE CHEROKEE BOYS CLUB SIDESHOW FREAKS brought home the First Place Prize at The First Annual Halloween Parade (The Cherokee “Carnevil” Parade) on Saturday Evening, Oct. 22.
     Thanks to Trista Welch and Tiff Reed for coordinating the Halloween Festivities for the Club.  Thanks also to everyone who participated in the event.  Special thanks to Macie Welch and Toree Teesateskie – the Siamese Twins; Chunky Jumper – The World’s Tallest Man; Ietan Reed-Littlejohn – The Wolf Boy; Hayes Reed – The World’s Strongest Man; Silas Reed-Littlejohn – Cyclops; Jeannie Arkansas – The Bearded Lady; and Terry Bradley – The Ringmaster.  Special thanks also to the helpers:  Jesse Sneed, Jasper Wolfe, Tuff Jackson, Stephen Little, Kasdan Saunooke, Charles Arch, J.T. Lambert, Travis Smith and Yona Wade. 

SAFETY AWARD WINNERS
     Congratulations to 3rd Quarter Safety Award Winners. Employees from every Club and School department are eligible for the quarterly drawings if they did not lose any work days due to an injury that occurred on the job.  The following people won from their departments and received a $25 gift card:

GOOD LUCK TO CHEROKEE’S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM
 The Boys Club wishes good luck to the members of the Cross Country Team as they compete in the Regional Championship meet at Cherokee on Saturday, October 29.

BUS DRIVER TRAINING
 Bus driver training classes will be held in Jackson County November 2-4.  Anyone interested in signing up for these classes should contact Allan Oocumma or Albert Arch at 497-9101.

FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES
Low-Income Fuel Assistance Deadline
 The deadline is drawing near for low-income heating fuel assistance applications.  Monday, October 31 is the last day!  No applications will be taken after this date.  Qualified applicants should go to the Family Support Services office on Goose Creek Road in Birdtown to complete your application as soon as possible or call for more information at 497-6092.

FOSTER PARENTS NEEDED
Family Support Services is still looking for Foster Parents who can provide a warm, secure and stable environment for children who need a home.  If you are interested in becoming a Foster Parent, please contact Barbara Jones at 497-6092.  You can make a difference in a child’s life.
