Carol Sue Hornbuckle Tramper – obituary

     Carol Sue Hornbuckle Tramper, 52 of the Birdtown Community went home to be with the Lord on Friday August 5, 2011 at Mission/St. Joseph Health System in Asheville, NC, following a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Cherokee.

     She was preceded in death by son, Robert Travis Bird; one grandson, James Paxton Lespier; two brothers, Sammy Ray Hornbuckle and William Jefferson Hornbuckle; and her Dad, John Sampson Hornbuckle, Sr.

     She is survived by her husband of sixteen years, Robert “Hoss” Tramper; one daughter, Shonica George; three sons Dewey Tramper, Kevin George both of Cherokee, and John Tramper of the home; her mother, Edna Hornbuckle; two sisters, Barbara George, and Lillie Bradley; two brothers, Jackie Hornbuckle, and John Sampson Hornbuckle, Jr., all of Cherokee; and eight grandchildren.

     The funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Monday August 8, 2011 at Goose Creek Baptist Church of which she was a member.  The Rev. Arthur Locust and the Rev. Randell Watkins will officiate.   The body was taken to the church at 4 PM on Sunday August 7, 2011 for visitation and to await the service hour. Burial was in the Locust Family Cemetery.

     Pall bearers will be Daniel Tramper, Perry Tramper, Jack Hornbuckle, Dewey Tramper, John Hornbuckle, Edd Owle, and Billie Jo Hornbuckle.

     Long House Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
