THANKS ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT) SUMMER YOUTH!

Since 1932 one of the Club’s major goals is to provide vocational and leadership training for Cherokee youth.  These students have assisted many of the Club’s departments and have received actual work experience that will help them in the future at school and with other job opportunities.

This summer the Boys Club was able to provide 11 jobs to local high school and college students under its OJT (On-the-Job Training) program.  The following students participated in this program this summer:

Agelink Child Care – Gabriel Reed, Meshay Long, Kayla Bigmeat and Elizabeth Wahnetah.

Snowbird Child Development – Tevin Smoker

Construction & Facilities – Kasdan Saunooke

CBC Printing – Jesse Toineeta and Katlin Roberts

Shop – Cory Walkingstick and Raymond Montelongo

Administration – Toree Watty

Everyone at the Boys Club extends their gratitude to these students for all they have done to assist the staff in their respective departments.  We wish them all the best for a bright, productive and successful future!
